April 15, 2020
Dear Sisters and Brothers
On April 10, 2020 Governor Scott extended Vermont’s Stay at Home to May 15, 2020 and announced that Vermont lodging businesses will be allowed to use their online reservation systems to begin booking reservations that begin on June 15 or later. Our 2020 Grand Chapter “Proud to Be” Session was scheduled for June 3 – 5, 2020. As a result, we are unable to hold our Grand Chapter Session on our dates. After careful consideration and discussion, we have decided to postpone our session to tentatively August 17 -18, 2020
This session will be restricted to business only with strictly Vermont members to accomplish only what is necessary for our state organization. While we are honored by members from other Grand Jurisdictions wanting to attend our session, we respectfully request that you cancel your plans to attend our session.
For our members safety and due to our reduction to 1.5 day session restricted to business only, the following activities will not take place at our Session.
·        Grand Representatives Hospitality Suite
·        Basket Raffle and Craft Table
·        Gifts for the 2020-2021 Grand Officers – these can be presented at the Grand Officers Reception
·        Past Grand Matron and Past Grand Patron Banquet
·        Reception of Masonic Appendant Bodies
·        Session Presentation of Bible, Altar Cloth and Emblems
·        Reception of Distinguished Guests
·        Reading of Annual Reports – these will be published in our Proceedings and are available by request
Should you have a question or concern, please contact either myself or Sister Jerri K. Riegler, Past Grand Matron, Grand Secretary via phone or e-mail.
This is a very fluid situation and we may have to address this issue again depending on our State and Federal government guidelines. Please continue to watch for updates and public notices from the State of Vermont and the CDC.  Please be attentive to our elderly members and check in on them frequently as they are the group that will be the hardest hit. When there is a change in our status, we will notify the membership accordingly.
Proud To Be,

Jacqueline (Jacque) M. Shiner
